IIPL taking off in Beijing

On May 5, 2009, the Institute for the Internet Policy & Law (IIPL) was set up at the Beijing Normal University. Meanwhile, Prof. Zhao, the Dean of the Law School, and Dr. Mao, the Director of the CNNIC concluded the MOU on collaboration of research on the Internet issues. Prof. Hong Xue, who is a world-renown expert on intellectual property law and Internet governance, becomes the founding Director. IIPL primarily researches the Internet law and policy in China, which has the world largest Internet population and is developing a robust electronic commerce.
